Congratulations to UNLV Immigration Clinic and Kids’ Court School at UNLV Boyd School of Law! Our 2018 Grant Recipients received $10,000 to further their combined work to ensure children and families in Nevada are protected, and offers law students real world experience providing pro bono deportation defense (including the Berstein Children’s Rights Program, which defends unaccompanied children fleeing violence). Kids’ Court School will continue to help children learn about the courtroom process and navigate the often intimidating legal process in immigration and beyond. Aided by the grant, translation services for clients will expand to further assist the representation of clients. We are both humbled and inspired by the work the Immigration Clinic and Kids’ Court do, it was our honor to have presented the grant to Michael Kagan, Laura Barrera, and Dr. Rebecca Nathanson.
